It’s extremely important to think of your goals and the things you’d like to achieve; To reflect on what you do it for. Whether it’s for your family, Your friends, or your mom. Here at Glamdom, new months mean new content, thus new goals to strive for. So here are a few things to have you guys thinking about your aspirations and most importantly “why you should do it for yourselves and not the haters”.
The number one thing there is to remember whilst working on goals or long term projects is that :
1. Haters are and will never be anything new
(meaning there will be haters but they do not have to dictate your behavior.)
Negativity is part of life. We are all the protagonists of our own lives and along with that come the antagonists. Regardless of where we are or go, we will always come across people who can’t see our value and won’t take part in uplifting us. So should we hold it against them and dedicate our lives to proving them wrong? No. We are valuable just as we are, don’t owe them anything and regardless of our actions they will continuously find negative things to say. Therefore, the most important to keep in mind is to focus on what we want for ourselves.
The Second logical thing to think about is of course the fact that :
2. Passion Should be above all
Think about it. Our goals and aspirations are unique to who we are, They come from something special within us that wants to shine and passion is what makes them even more magical. It’s what keeps us going when things are difficult or unpleasant. It assures the work we put out is done diligently and with love. It makes our work pure and full of good intentions. Of course feeding of off the negativity we receive can play a big role in fueling our passion, but do we really want to have to thank the haters when we make it to the finish line? I don’t know about you guys but I don’t ! Plus you shouldn’t need your haters to be dedicated to your project. So next time you feel more motivated by hate rather than the love for your craft try to ponder over your priorities.
To keep things even realer,we should acknowledge the fact that :
3. Keeping up with animosity is exhausting
Trying to “stunt ” on people who don’t have your best interest at heart is exhausting. In a sense it’s seeking for validation and as you can imagine that’s particularly draining. The gratification it brings doesn’t last long and won’t bring you long term satisfaction, you might even find yourself constantly doing it. To go even further into the subject matter it is harmful to yourself worth as well as who you are as a person and because we can all agree that it’s impossible to please everyone, you’re better off doing your best for yourself.
A personal tip i’d even suggest is to think of the fact that:
4. The haters don’t have to be a thing
I think the word “hater” tends to get used too loosely (although such hostility does exist), and part of maturing for me meant feeling against labeling people as “haters”. In my eyes it’s imperative to view them as people who are flawed just like we all are and have their own insecurities. Once we begin to see things this way they have less of an influence on us. We spend more time focusing on ourselves and they’re more like people we want to help rather than prove wrong.
Last but not least, because its crucial to remember that goals shouldn’t be reduced to big life achievements also keep in mind that:
5. The end Goal is to be happy
too often our culture places value on ephemeral things such as looks, money or power. We are prompted to compete against each other for success and attention. If you think about it the negativity we tend to get often comes in the form of us not supposedly good or worthy enough in comparison to society’s idealistic vision of success. However it doesn’t have to be this way and self awareness is always key. Yes, there will be some people who will disregard what we bring to the table but it does not make us or our project any less significant than the next. So always make sure to show yourself some love and appreciation when it comes to your aspirations.
Hopefully, these little tips will have you all motivated in a brand new way and bring along tons of positivity in this shiny month of October.
