As someone who’s a part of the #shortysquad when it comes to my lashes, falsies are a full on fantasy. Most mascaras don’t do much for my naturally thin and short lashes, but with false lashes all the volume, length, and drama I could ever want come in an instant. The only problem is the price tag.
Good lashes can get expensive–$12 and more for just one pair–and while you can buy lashes for a low price from the drugstore, a lot of them end up looking too much like their name. Fortunately for all of us bougie babes on a budget, someone found a way around that problem.
A video went viral in makeup twitter of a woman turning a pair of really fake looking false lashes into faux mink ones. The only thing she used was something we all have in our makeup bag: a spoolie.
In the video, makeup artist Paloma Garcia takes her spoolie and rubs them through her lashes. The result leaves the lashes looking wispy and way more natural than when first bought.
Other people were quick to try it out and all the tests turned out true, making it a major win for all of our wallets.
